The United States will charge a 15% tariff on a majority of products from the European Union. Steel will continue to be tariffed at 50%. Prior to Trump, it was in the single digit percentages. The EU has also promised to spend hundreds of billions for US energy, and spend another hundreds of billions in US investments. This deal is expected to raise prices for Americans by 1.8% overall.
Most of Trump's "agreements" have been unilateral announcements that he is charging 30% on such-and-such country. This is one of the few deals in which there were actually negotiations.
