The Trump administration has dropped a civil suit against the Southwest Key Program (SKP). The SKP is a Texas company that provides care for troubled children involved in the youth justice system. The government has contracted with SKP to care for unaccompanied minors who show up at the Southern border.
The suit was dropped today after the Department of Health announced it ended its contracts with the company and reported it has placed the children elsewhere.
The canceled suit, linked below, cites numerous specific stories of sexual abuse reported by the children at SKP, and states there are "hundreds" more stories, all occurring from 2015 onward.
The Department of Justice and Department of Health and Human Services will no longer pursue the civil penalties for unstated reasons. However, I believe it will no longer pursue the suit because the abused children are seen as vermin and parasites and not actually as children. Furthermore, the SKP continues to house an unknown number of American Citizen children involved in the justice system.
