Trump Begins Disinformation Campaign To Destroy Ukraine
Trump began a disinformation campaign against Ukraine today, after he began talks with Russia on ending the warn in Ukraine—without Ukraine present for the talks. I won't go into the details of the disinformation here, because Trump's lies are the weeds he wants everyone to be stuck in. His tactic—which he applies everywhere against anyone—is to spread lies, and accept at that his followers will accept the lies at face value, which they do. Right wing pundits package the lies in pretty little boxes with bows on them, and deliver them to the masses, and soon, tens of millions of Americans believe them, without question, based on nothing more than lies, or at best, anecdotes.
When Trump begins a vicious disinformation campaign, his decision has been made. He seeks to give Russia the control it wants, to do as it wishes.
Meanwhile, European countries are scrambling to fill the power vacuum left by the United States, as Russian threats become more and more real. Europe has let the United States rule the roost, but Europeans seem to be realizing it's time to cut the umbilical cord.*
*In a press conference on February 20, the press asked some of Trump's key staffers about some of the lies, and the staffers obfuscated.
*On February 21, Trump was interviewed by Brian Kilmeade on FOX News, and said a lot of things, including the following:
"I get tired of listening to it. I've seen it enough, and then he complains that he's not at a meeting that we're having with Saudi Arabia trying to intermediate peace. Well, he's been at meetings for three years with a... president who didn't know what the hell he was doing. He's been at the meetings for three years and nothing got done, so I don't think he's very important to be at meetings, to be honest with you. He's been there for three years. He's he makes it very hard to make deals."Trump says Ukraine started the war that's killing its citizens. What are the facts? | AP News
