Clemency For People Who Created Sex Trafficking Infrastructure

In the first year of his second administration, President Trump has now pardoned two major players who have created infrastructure for the financial and sales sides of sex trafficking.

On his first day back in office, Trump pardoned Ross Ulbricht, the founder of Silk Road on the dark web. Silk Road was an unrestricted Amazon-like website where you could buy anything from fentanyl and meth to hitman services and sex slaves.

On March 23, Trump granted clemency to Changpeng Zhao the billionaire former CEO of Binance, a cryptocurrency exchange, for failing to create protocols that prevented criminals from laundering money through the exchange. This resulted in drug and sex traffickers using the site as their bank.

There is a Trump connection between Binance as well: Binance recently used a cryptocoin from the Trump family crypto company World Liberty Financial, to settle a $2 billion deposit from the national cryptocurrency of Abu Dhabi in the Binance exchange.

Trump says he removed himself from World Liberty Financial leadership and has no ties to it anymore. But a Trump-affiliated organization receives 75% of revenues from WLF—another sign of corruption, lies and laundering performed directly by the president.

There are other pardons and commutations the president has given whose recipients are guilty of financial crimes, but these examples are the most egregious.
