The United States is going on two weeks bombing Iran. Israel is at it, as well. Hezbollah out of Lebanon has joined the fight on the side of Iran as well as other smaller militant groups.
The Iranians have not backed down. Their $20,000 drones are taken down with missiles that cost $1 million, and they know it. The war is costing over a billion dollars a day.
Russia and North Korea and other regimes have congratulated Iran on electing a new Supreme Leader, who is the son of the assassinated Ayatollah. Moreover, Russia is giving Iran information to help them defeat our systems and infrastructure in the Middle East, and Trump continues to heap praise on Putin. What does Russia have over Trump? It must be something wild!
Iran has shut down the strait of Hormuz, which is the thoroughfare through which about 20% of the world's oil flows, which has made Trump big mad.
I suspect we'll see nuclear bombs by the end of all this, because Trump is just that crazy.
On the lighter side. Here are the reasons given so far, for attacking Iran:
1. Iran’s nuclear program was “obliterated” last June, but the U.S. started the war because Iran refused to abandon its “nuclear ambitions.” Trump, Feb 28
2. The U.S. attacked Iran to prevent a nuclear war. Trump, March 3
3. Absent an attack, Iran would have had a nuclear weapon within two weeks. Trump, March 4
4. Iran is developing long-range missiles that “could soon reach the American homeland.” Trump, Feb 28
5. The war is necessary because Iran has too much control over the global oil supply, so we need to destroy their navy. Rubio, March 2
6. The U.S. started the war because it knew Israel was going to attack Iran, endangering U.S. troops. Rubio, March 2
7. Actually, no -the U.S. did not start the war because it knew Israel was going to attack Iran. I never said that. Rubio, March 3
8. Trump pushed Israel to join an attack on Iran because he believed Iran would otherwise attack first. Trump, March 3
9. The U.S. attacked Iran to eliminate the threat posed by its short-range missiles and drones. Rubio, March 2
10. The U.S. attacked Iran because “they’ve been killing Americans for 47 years.” Hegseth, March 4
11. The U.S. attacked Iran because Iran is “the weakest they’ve ever been.” Hegseth, March 4
12. The war on Iran was started because of the “cumulative effect of various direct threats” and Trump’s “feeling, based on fact, that Iran does pose an imminent and direct threat” to the U.S. Karoline Leavitt, March 4
13. “I got [Ayatollah Ali Khamenei] before he got me,” Trump told ABC News on March 1. “They tried twice. Well, I got him first.” Repeated by Hegseth March 4
14. The U.S. started the war because the Iranians were not negotiating in good faith. Hegseth, March 2
15. Trump started the war to secure freedom for the Iranian people. Trump, Feb 28
16. The U.S. attacked Iran because it was the “last best chance” to do so. Trump, March 1
17. The war is a response to Iran’s efforts to interfere in U.S. elections. Trump, Feb 28”
