Charlie Kirk Dead At Event In Utah

On the afternoon of September 10, popular political commentator Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck by a sniper.

Kirk was beloved by the mainstream MAGA movement, and had been throwing Trump merchandise out to the crowd before he had gone up to the canopy and began speaking with the audience. As he was answering a question, a bullet fired from a building on the Utah Valley University campus, ripped through his throat. His carotid artery immediately drained out, and he appeared to die within seconds.

The shooter is at large.

President Trump officially announced his death later in the afternoon, after Kirk's body had been at the hospital for a few hours.

I believe this is a turning point for the state of our nation, and not in a good way. The rhetoric around his death has been shocking from all sides.

UPDATE: September 17, 2025

The shooter turned himself in to Washington City, Utah police on September 12.  He is 22 year old Tyler Robinson. He was charged yesterday, and the charging document revealed that he killed Kirk over the issue of Trans rights. Robinson was dating and living with a trans person. He left a note and sent text messages to his partner, incriminating himself.

Robinson was raised in a devout Mormon family, but apparently left the church at least a few years ago.

In the days leading up to the charging document revealing his motives, leftists online shared numerous memes and messages declaring that Robinson was a right-wing MAGA individual without any evidence. This has very much exacerbated the MAGA response, with some people calling for liberals to be slaughtered in the street (ony a few people have declared this, but it's alarming nonetheless). Conservatives online shared the celebratory videos and posts of liberals upon Kirk's death with the employers of those people, which has resulted in firings.

Despite the killer having left the Mormon church, there is the movement to blame the church at least in part, for the killing, with detractors claiming that the man wouldn't have radicalized if he weren't raised in a "demonic" religion.

Things are getting wild in this country.
