The Department of Commerce and the Trump administration are moving completely away from teaching regular Americans skills that lead to entrepreneurship; instead, opting to give billionaires the authority to dictate how tax dollars are invested to meet their (the billionaires') needs.
In its new strategic plan, AMERICA’S TALENT STRATEGY: BUILDING THE WORKFORCE FOR THE GOLDEN AGE, the Department of Commerce creates a plan specifically for investors who use the Department of Commerce's Investment Accelerator. This plan will give billionaires the authority to direct the Department of Commerce on how taxpayer money is invested to provide them (the billionaires) with the workforce they want.
I am not being hyperbolic right now. This is written in the strategic plan.
I have written before about the investment accelerator, and you can find the link to that piece (where you'll find sources) below. In short, the Investment Accelerator helps billionaires get past business regulations and provides them personalized guidance on every aspect of starting their businesses. This service is specifically only provided to billionaires. Regular millionaires and normal Americans are ineligible for personalized services and guidance through the bureaucratic red tape.
What this America's Talent Strategy does, is further provides billionaires not only with the ability to direct how the United States invests in the workforce, but also other benefits, such as taxpayer funded internships, and subsidies to help cover the cost of wages.
Other items are addressed as well, which are more generally helpful to States with regard to their case management systems. I don't have any problems with that, at face value. Using technology to help with case management and help people find jobs makes sense.
I won't address everything in the strategic plan here. However, one interesting part that caught my eye was assistance that will specifically help men of working age, who are disconnected from the workforce, to become employed, including subsidizing some of their wages so the employer doesn't have to. Why only men? Because women can go to hell, I guess.
