| The International Criminal Court Headquarters. The U.S. is not a member of the ICC, and has repeatedly defied any order from the ICC. But no president has ever declared a national emergency over it. |
Trump declares a National Emergency due to the International Criminal Court issuing arrest warrants on Americans and on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The court is sanctioned and financial assets entering the jurisdiction of the United States will be seized, and any person who enters the United States to act on behalf of the ICC will be arrested and prosecuted. Further, any person who assists or provides any support whatsoever to the ICC will be prosecuted. All people and relations having to do with the International Criminal Court are blocked from traveling.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was indicted by the International Criminal Court in November 2024, for war crimes he committed in Gaza, in which, to date, over 60,000 civilians have been murdered.
The United States is not member of the International Criminal Court, and regularly defies it. What sets today's order apart is the official declaration of a national emergency over it.
The president also signed an executive order titled Eradicating Anti-Christian Bias, in which he accuses everyone from educators, to President Biden, and others, of relentlessly persecuting Christians. The order creates a task force of many of his Secretaries of State and others. They will review every department of government and every agency that receives Federal funds, and propose solutions to stamp out bias.
To get an idea of what Trump has in mind, we can look at certain people specifically mentioned in the order: A group of Christians who were serving jail sentences for blockading women's access to clinics where abortions are offered. One of them had committed assault, injuring a woman who was in labor, for example. And others committed similar crimes. Trump pardoned them and today declared that they were persecuted for being Christian.
The task force has one year to create its report.
Lastly, today, President Trump spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast and pretended to be a Christian during a long speech. And all the Christians cheered.
