Elon Musk retweeted this USA Spending receipt and claimed it was the Reuters news service. In fact, it was Thomson Reuters, a technology firm that provides all kinds of services, including cybersecurity.

They had a contract with Defense, dealing with Social Engineering scams, which are very real scams that normal people—including Federal employees—fall for. Maybe it was worth the price, maybe not. But it wasn't Reuters, the news service.


Trump repeated the lie on Truth Social. Millions of his followers believed it at face value.
