During the inaugural prayer service, Episcopal Bishop Mariann Budde pled with the President to have mercy on various groups of people, including the LGBTQ+ community and immigrant communities. Trump himself seemed unfazed and checked out during the speech. However, Melania Trump appeared to be seething, and Vice President J.D. Vance smirked at the suggestions and pleadings.
Trump and his millions of followers responded petulantly to the message inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ.
President Trump issued a memorandum today, in which the writer drones on, similar to Trump's own diatribes, declaring that Federal agencies need to work on making things cheaper and reducing inflation. This comes only two days after making most Federal jobs inaccessible to rural people in areas that need good jobs. This memorandum is called "President Donald J. Trump Delivers Emergency Price Relief for American Families to Defeat the Cost-of-Living Crisis." Only time will tell if it has any effect whatsoever on anything at all.

On this day, President Trump granted a complete pardons to Terence Sutton and Andrew Zabavsky, former Washington DC police officers. Sutton had pursued Karon Hylton-Brown, who was riding a mo-ped without a helmet. After Hylton-Brown died in a crash due to the chase, Zabavsky arrived on scene, and conspired with Sutton to cover up the crime. It is against the law in Washington D.C. to start a police chase over a small traffic infraction. And it's certainly a crime to tamper with evidence. They were both convicted and were serving their prison sentences when Trump granted the criminals pardon.
Trump issued several orders regarding illegal immigration and declaring a state of emergency at the Southern border. He ordered that the wall that he started building during his first administration, should be finished. Much of this is a reiteration of orders already issued. With the declaration of a state of emergency, the Department of the Defense acted immediately to send 1,500 American military troops to the Southern border.
The president also designated the Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization. The Houthi movement in Yemen has been involved in ongoing conflicts, including attacks on United States ships in recent years. Trump had designated the group as terrorists during his first administration, and re-designated the group again today.
