So Much Going On That It's Almost Mindboggling

Administration Meddles In Speech of Celebrities

In the past few months, two major broadcasters, Paramount and Sinclair (which operates numerous ABC affiliates), have fired their late night comedy talk show hosts, Steven Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel respectively. Paramount settled out of court in lieu of trial on allegations one of its news shows doctored an interview with Kamala Harris that made her look more competent than she really was.  Kimmel, on the other hand, was fired abruptly, when the Federal Communications Commission threatened to punish the network over jokes Kimmel made about how Trump supporters acted in the days following Charlie Kirk's assassination.

In both cases, the Trump administration wielded an unconstitutional power over private organizations, using threats of punishment to freeze free speech.

Trump Administration Hides Statistics

Department of Justice removes study that demonstrated right-wing extremism is rising.

In the United States, according to the Cato Institute, right-wing extremists commit more than double the acts of violence leading to murder compared to left-wing extremists and Islamic extremists combined since 2020.

It is a popular lie among conservatives that leftists commit widespread politically-motivated murder and conservatives commit virtually no murders at all except in a few rare cases of insanity. This lie is spread by every talking head among them, without exception.

The conservative propaganda machine is not only the country's biggest spreader of false information, but has also melted the brains of everyone who gets addicted to it.

Everything Else

There are too many things going on to even keep track of anymore. Around 1,000 men who were locked in the infamous Alligator Alcatraz prison have gone missing, not only from our internment camps, but also from the ICE database of detainees. Lawyers assigned to these men, their families, etc...have no idea where they are. This is highly irregular and has led to wild speculations. Wherever those men ended up, we can at least infer that Trump's immigration machine is a mess and does not care about due process, families, etc...

Four hundred contract employees at a Hyundai factory in the US were arrested by ICE inappropriately, treated like criminals, handcuffed, thrown in jails, etc...before they discovered that those were highly trained employees preparing American workers for a $4 billion expansion of Hyundai in the United States. After the employees were released, they chose to go home rather than remain in the United States. Korea pulled the deal after that, and there will no longer be an expansion of the factory, which would have provided many jobs for Americans.

There's so much else. Some good, too. Trump seems to have mended some kind of relationship with the President of China, for example. There are some trade deals that may help appease the tariff war Trump started.
